Nostalgia 1/2/14

This week's theme for photographic exploration is: nostalgia. 

“The Greek word for "return" is nostos. Algos means "suffering." So nostalgia is the suffering caused by an unappeased yearning to return.”
― Milan Kundera

The new year is a time to move forward with determination, to avoid past mistakes.  But, behind the determination that fuels resolve, there is always the pull of comforting nostalgia.  Is nostalgic remembrance a window's view on romantic and happy days gone... or false images of things only half remembered, things that never were?
 
Mahall's Bowling Alley in Lakewood, Ohio was a good place to consider these thoughts and take some pictures on cold, snowy January night...
